Our Opportunity
The Swiss Turn Machinist is responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of production CNC Swiss turning centers, maintenance of proper documentation and support of the manufacturing cell. In addition, the Swiss Turn Machinist writes and edits programs and has a working knowledge of feeds and speeds for a variety of materials. Compensation range: $25 -$30 per hour with full benefits package.
Our Requirements
The Swiss Turn Machinist is responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of production CNC Swiss turning centers, maintenance of proper documentation and support of the manufacturing cell. In addition, the Swiss Turn Machinist writes and edits programs and has a working knowledge of feeds and speeds for a variety of materials. Compensation range: $25 -$30 per hour with full benefits package. Also:
- Maintains CNC Swiss turning centers (Tsugami preferred) and tooling including replacement of worn and broken tools, as well as adjustment of work and tool offsets.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the setup and operation of CNC Swiss turning centers
- Candidate must have the analytical capability to develop and implement suitable machining steps to produce accurate and efficient new production parts using CNC Swiss turning centers.
- Has proficient troubleshooting and problem solving skills to be applied to prototype and current part manufacturing.
- Is able to understand and edit complex programs, as well as apply programming skills to everyday programs.
- Has thorough understanding of all types and grades of tooling, and is able to suggest and implement new tools when troubleshooting programs.
- Adheres to dimensions and tolerances found on mechanical drawings and has a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Observes operation of machines and verifies conformance of machined components to specifications using measuring instruments such as CMMs, surface measuring equipment, and optical inspection equipment.
- Advanced shop math skills
- Maintains a clean safe, working area.

Machine Programmer
Our Opportunity
A machine programmer is responsible for creating, maintaining and supporting CNC programs, as well as for creating and maintaining specific work instructions to support the machining operations. The person holding this position will be instrumental in supporting machinists with various problems with programs and processes. Compensation range: $19 - $27per hour with full benefits package.
Our Key Skills Requirements
- Create and maintain CNC programs
- Support machinists with problem solving and troubleshoot as needed.
- Continually look for program process improvements and cycle time reduction.
- Attend New Part Meetings, Pre-Production Meetings, and Programmer Meetings
- Work with machinists to prove out new parts and/or prototypes
- Update old CNC programs
- Design and be able to pick out proper tooling for new and current programs
- Solid problem solving skills
- Ability to use standard shop math and trigonometric functions
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
Duties will change as dictated by product demand and customer specifications. Other duties may be assigned.
Our Qualifications and Tool Requirements
In-depth experience gained by schooling, training and on-the-job experience necessary to possess a thorough understanding of CNC programming,
machining, and processes that go along with manufacturing. This position requires a thorough understanding of metal cutting tools and fixtures. This position also requires a thorough understanding of the internal physics and functions of a CNC machine tool, including complex multi-axis and multi spindle machine tools. Candidates must be experienced and proficient in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software. Prefer Esprit software experience.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years (five years preferred) of CNC programming experience or equivalent education/training and experience. Three or more years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment is also preferred. Must be experienced in using traditional inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators), surface plate inspection methods (using gage blocks, indicators, sine bars) and have basic skills using a CMM and Optical Comparator.
